Located in the heart of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Lake Carlsbad Golf Course offers a one-of-a-kind golf experience along the beautiful Pecos River. With two distinct courses — a full 18-hole regulation course and a 9-hole par-3 course — our facility combines natural beauty with thoughtful course design, creating a destination that golfers of all skill levels can enjoy.

The Regulation 18-Hole Course

6,512 Yards of Challenge and Beauty


Our 18-hole, par-72 course stretches across 6,512 yards of rolling terrain east of the river. It’s not the longest course in New Mexico, but it’s one of the most rewarding. Tight fairways, subtle elevation changes, and small, fast greens provide a variety of shot-making challenges for both new and experienced players.


 Recent improvements, including new tees and extended holes, have added length and complexity, ensuring every round feels fresh and competitive.


The course is maintained with sustainability in mind — using effluent water from the City of Carlsbad’s Waste Water Treatment Facility and nutrient-rich compost from the same source to keep our fairways and greens healthy year-round.

The Par-3 Course

A Fun, Quick Round for All Ages


Running right along the Pecos River, our 9-hole, par-27 course is ideal for a quick game or relaxed afternoon on the greens. Spanning approximately 1,300 yards, it features holes ranging from 80 to 230 yards — offering the perfect mix of challenge and accessibility.


The par-3 course can easily be played in under an hour, making it great for beginners, juniors, and seniors who want to enjoy the game without the full 18-hole commitment.
